Lucrana Simmentals 7 th Annual Sale was held on property at Texas, Qld on July 6. Prospective buyers were greeted with overcast skies and drizzly rain on the morning of the sale. This being a stark contrast to the drought conditions currently prevailing throughout NSW and Southern Qld.
The sale resulted in 50 bulls selling out of 56 offered for a Top Price of $13000, and an average
of $5710. The top priced bull Lot 13 – Lucrana Memphis(P) sold to the Langley family of Ettrick NSW. The impressive 20 months old son of Lucrana Hunter tipped the sales at 946kgs and boasted an EMA of 135cm.
Other sales of note were Lot 1 – Lucrana Major M65(P) selling to the Bruce family for $11500, and Lot 21- Lucrana M42(P) making $11000 going to Olinda Grazing Co.
While the 5 Led Heifers offered achieved a 100% clearance and a $4300 average, topping at $8500 for Lot 63 – Lucrana Naomi(P) an ET daughter of Lucrana Elsa.
A buying panel with a wide geographic spread were active on the day with bulls and females selling to an area from Central Qld through to the North Coast and Liverpool Plains of NSW.
The sale was conducted by CL Squires of Inverell with auctioneer Robbie Bloch taking the bids.
