[people_contact id=”1″ style=”float:left;width:385px;padding-top:0px;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:0px;padding-right:10px;” wrap=”true” ] As we are all aware the seasonal conditions for the past 12 months over much of eastern Australia have been trying. And although we still haven’t had a break in the Texas district, it is pleasing to see that many areas have now had some relief. In light of recent seasonal conditions, a common comment I have heard from clients in the past year or so is how well the Lucrana cattle hold up when conditions are less than ideal. I attribute this to the Lucrana female herd being run under tough commercial conditions in Traprock country, with selection over many generations for cattle that can survive and reproduce in this environment.

This year I am proud to present a diverse line of predominately polled bulls that I believe we can be justifiably proud of. Nearly half of the catalogue is bred via Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer, highlighting our commitment to the use of superior genetics and also the introduction of new bloodlines into the herd. The bulls have been prepared on a Rumevite Beef Weaner Pellet with free access to as much corn stubble as they can eat.

In a couple of firsts this year the sale will be interfaced with Elite Auctions giving those who can’t make it on the day the chance to bid online, more details are available in the sale catalogue or you can register online here.

We are also donating half the proceeds from Lot 1 to The Black Dog Institute. These funds will help this excellent organization with research, and building awareness and understanding of mental illness. Mental health being a such an important issue in rural Australia today that touches many of us and one that I am personally passionate about. I extend a warm invitation to everyone to come and view the cattle and enjoy some hospitality. I look forward to catching up on sale day.

The Lucrana herd is JBAS 7 and in a cattle Tick Free area. Interstate movement of cattle is guaranteed.

All bulls have passed a Semen Test conducted by Adam Wise of Ced Wise AB Services Pty Ltd. Additionally they have been examined for scrotal size and breeding soundness. A Sperm Morphology evaluation has been undertaken, from a sample from each bull, by Sally North of Rocky Repro.

Morphology results, scrotal circumferences, weight and scan data, and pregnancy status of the females will be available in a supplementary catalogue on sale day.

Sale Information

INSPECTIONS: Inspection from 9am Sale Day or by prior arrangement.

AGENTS REBATE: 2% outside agents rebate is offered to agents introducing buyers 24hrs prior to the sale and settling on their behalf within 7 days.

PHONE BIDDING: The selling complex is located in a reliable NextG mobile coverage area. Contact the selling agents if you wish to place a phone bid.

DELIVERY: Where possible Lucrana Simmentals offer delivery at no cost to major saleyards which are on delivery routes for other Lucrana Sale Lots within QLD and Northern NSW (as far south as Tamworth & Gunnedah). This service is to be negotiated between Lucrana Simmentals and the successful purchaser and is only provided at the convenience of the vendors.

OWN TRANSPORT FREIGHT REBATE: A rebate of $150 will be deducted off the purchase price of any lot, where the purchaser takes delivery on sale day in their own transport or a carrier organised by themselves.

BULL PREPARATION: All Bulls have been prepared on a Rumevite Beef Weaner Pellet with free access to millet hay. The show cattle (being Lots 1, 10, 48,49) and also Lots 25 & 26 have had longer preparations.

HANDLING: The bulls have been worked with bikes and dogs, and also exposed to horses.

CATERING: Barbecue lunch and refreshments provided.

TRANSFERS: Please indicate on the Buyers Instruction Slip, if an animal is required to be A.S.B.A transferred.
