2026 is a monumental year for the stud in that it marks 40 years of breeding for Lucrana. And it is with much pride and satisfaction that we reflect on the development of the Lucrana herd over that time, and also on the stud’s achievements and impact on the industry.
As always our focus is on the future, which brings us to this year’s sale draft of commercially orientated and sensibly prepared bulls.
Although we have recorded some rain recently the season throughout 2026 at Texas has been incredibly tough, with only 150mm of rain recorded for the past 7 months from December to June. However, with the benefit of irrigation, we were fortunate to establish some early oats, and all the 2yr old bulls will be presented for sale off crop.
This year’s draft features a larger than normal run of solid red bulls. Predominately sired by first season sire Tycoba Trooper, I believe the Reds offer great flexibility in terms of breeding options and market flexibility. Also included are a very impressive draft of Polled – Traditional, Black and Red Autumn drop yearlings.

Directions to Property
From Texas take Riverton Rd for 35kms. From Bonshaw head towards Yetman for 8kms, turn right at Bonshaw Weir Rd then right onto Riverton Rd for 11kms. From Tenterfield, 7kms past Mingoola turn right at Hynes Bridge turn off then left into Riverton Rd for approx. 35kms.

All bulls have had a Breeding Soundness Evaluation and Semen Test, including Sperm Morphology.
POLLED CONDITION EXPLAINED
Here are some examples of breeding for the polled condition. Keep in mind that each parent passes one half of its genetic makeup on to its offspring. (The genes causing scurred calves are not considered in these examples).
INSURANCE
Insurance Representatives will be in attendance on sale day and we recommend that buyers intending to insure their purchases do so from the fall of the hammer.
Herd Health
The Lucrana herd is JBAS 7 and in a Cattle Tick Free area. Interstate movement of cattle is guaranteed.

Sale Information
Directions: Lucrana Selling Complex is located at 3087 Riverton Rd, Texas Qld
Inspections: Open Day July 31st – 10am – 2pm. Refreshments provided.
OR by prior arrangement.
Agents Rebate: 2% outside agents rebate is offered to agents introducing buyers 24hrs prior to the sale and settling on their behalf within 7 days
Catering: Barbecue lunch and refreshments provided.
Phone Bidding: The selling complex is located in a reliable Mobile coverage area. Contact the selling agents to place a phone bid.
Delivery: An offer of free delivery to major saleyards in QLD and Northern NSW (on delivery routes for other Sale Lots) is extended to all successful purchasers.
This service is to be negotiated between the vendor and purchaser and is provided at the convenience of Lucrana Simmentals.
Own Transport Rebate: A rebate of $150+GST will be deducted off the purchase price of any Lot if the purchaser takes delivery on the day of the sale in their own transport, or a carrier organised and paid for by themselves.
Bull Preparation: Grazing an Oats crop from late May prior to which they were supplemented with Ridley Stud Pro pellets in the paddock.
Handling: The bulls have been worked with bikes and dogs and also exposed to horses.
Transfers: Please indicate on the Buyers Instruction Slip if a ASBA registered animal is required to be transferred.
